Camping accommodation October 1, 2020

Advantages and disadvantages of camping accommodation

I don’t know how others are and what they have thought all their lives, but I have long believed that camping means camping in a tent. Only later, close to adolescence, did I find myself in a place where we were accommodated in a house, located among many other houses and only a few tents, scattered here and there among the houses, and at the entrance it was written in capital letters: “CAMPING”. It was then that I understood that there is also camping for houses or other types of accommodation and that in fact camping is defined primarily as a recreational activity that takes place outdoors, generally on areas where tents, camping houses, barracks are installed for tourists.

Tourists who resort to camping prefer to leave crowded areas, generally urban, to enjoy nature, living temporarily in tents, camping houses, bungalows or caravans. Some prefer even in the open air, when there are quite long periods with favourable weather.

In other words, camping is a cheaper alternative to classic, traditional tourism, characterized by specially arranged spaces, which are of two types:

camping places - when they are provided with free access: in this case the tourists sleep in their personal tents or caravans with which they came to the camping place.

camp sites - when they are arranged for commercial purposes, and the access is made on the basis of a camping fee, the accommodation of tourists being made in camping houses, bungalows, tents, etc.

In short, it is the choice of those who love going out in nature for nature, not primarily for the comfort promised by the stars or daisies of hotels, villas, cottages or guesthouses. Camping, even if it is camping, offers greater freedom, a feeling of “release”, if we might say so.

In our country, the campsite is defined as a tourist reception structure that provides accommodation in tents, camping houses, caravans or bungalows, arranged so as to allow parking and preparation of meals, as well as offering other services specific to this type of accommodation unit. For example, tourists who will benefit from access to camping cottages will also have access to showers and toilets, washbasins, level camping plots covered with grass, access to drinking water, paved or cobbled interior alleys, sports and leisure ground, commercial spaces, first aid kit, mailbox, garbage bins, fencing and guarding during the day and night, billboard with camping diagram, public lighting, etc.
