Here is our selection of sights worth choosing Bran-Moeciu-Fundata-Rasnov area for.

-Bran Castle

This is the most famous tourist attraction in the area and in the top three most visited in the country. A historical and architectural monument, strategically built in the Bran Pass, this small but solid medieval castle stoically resists more or less hostile centuries. And they are not few! Its history begins with a document issued in November 1377 by King Louis I of Hungary (1342-1382) granting the Saxons of Brasov the right to build a new castle here, on the site of an older fortification probably erected by the Teutonic knights. Perched on a cliff, on the trade and military route that linked (or, as the case may be, blocked) the historic Romanian provinces, Bran fortress enjoyed its strategic position. It came under various jurisdictions and dominions, grew and strengthened over time, fell into disrepair... The medieval fortification was to become the property of Queen Mary in the 1920s. She loved this place, lived here for a long time and made some changes.

Today, Bran Castle has new attractions such as the "Time Tunnel" and the "History of Fright", taken from the chest of legends and bestselling stories about Dracula and beyond.

-Bran National Museum

Few people notice the former Customs House at the base of Bran Castle. The building dates back to the late 14th century, when the customs moved to Bran. After the restitution of Bran Castle, the Customs Museum was set up here, with objects from the castle. But now, the new headquarters of the Bran National Museum is housed in the building at 14 Aurel Stoian Street in Bran. The exhibits are objects from the royal collections of Bran Castle - decorative art, plastic art, books, weapons, etc. Objects with a heartfelt story for those who owned them and with an interesting history for those who are curious to look at them...

What would it be like to stay "in the shadow" of Bran Castle, to book your perfect holiday home? Bran 99 is located in Bran, 400m from Bran Castle and offers guests the whole unit, namely three rooms with their own bathrooms, terrace and a generous living room, fully equipped kitchen, and two sitting areas. Internet is also free of charge, as is parking. And it's not the only offer to book a guesthouse, cottage or bungalow in Bran, you'll see for yourself.

-Ski slopes

Whatever the season, staying at the right mountain guesthouse will ensure a complete stay. In winter, the area is prepared with a series of authorized ski slopes, especially suitable for beginners. The Zănoaga slope is 650 m long and has a difference in level of 145 m. The Cheile Grădiștei (Moeciu) slope is 470 m long and has a difference in level of 60 m. At high altitude is the Fundata slope, 267 m long and with a difference in level of 64 m. The Moieciu slope is 570 m long and has a difference in level of 57 m. Advanced skiers have a dedicated slope in Fundata. It has a length of 300 m and a difference in level of 70 m. It is also equipped with ski lifts and artificial snow installations. Let's not forget that Zănoaga Baby ski, with its 700 m length and a 50 m level difference, is suitable for the youngest skiers.

-The Bucegi Natural Park

Situated in the east of the Southern Carpathians, it covers the entire Bucegi Massif and has an area of 32497 ha. You may not know that its name comes from "Buciac" or "Buceci" as it appears in medieval names of the 16th century. This word has the meaning of beech forest, which covered the flanks below 1,000 m. Many trails of all degrees of difficulty are available here, the one to the imposing Piatra Craiului ridge being one of the most famous. The geographical location and easy access to tourist routes make the Bucegi Mountains the most frequented mountain massif in the country. And there's plenty to choose from. From Moeciu de sus there are hiking trails to Omu Peak and Padina Cottage. From Bran (village of Poarta) you can take a difficult trail to Omu Peak via Valea Gaura - Șaua Hornurilor.

-The Picture Box

It is a permanent photographic exhibition about life in the countryside, organized on Bângăleasa Valley, no 148, in Moeciu de Sus. Housed in a traditional cottage, it is a chance for visitors to lift the veil of time and see antique objects from the time of their great-grandparents. It also houses an exhibition of old cameras and a display of the different ways of developing photographs. Laurent Juoualt, a French artist who is also in love with Romania, came up with the idea for this unique museum.

-Grandma's room

The museum-room, set up in the house of a family from Moeciu de Sus, aims to awaken interest in the old tradition of loom weaving. Here you can learn all about the process of transforming sheep's wool into a distaff, then into weaving wool, the different ways of using wool, etc. The walls are decorated with traditional carpets and with specific costumes from Moeciu de Sus, which can be tried on upon request.

-Eco-tourism trails

In the Bran-Moieciu area there are nine ecotouristic trails, quite easy, marked with little men. They start from Moeciu de Sus, Șirnea and Fundata. One of the more special trails is for exploring Fundata, the highest altitude commune in the country. The landscapes are high, the air is clean, the cheese produced here has the fresh taste of fat grass...

-Râșnov and its attractions

The peasant fortress of Rășnov rises from the ashes of time and greets you, unperturbed, on its corner of high rock. Below, Dino Park seriously competes for the attention of youngsters interested in the life-size dinosaur collection. The Valea Cetății Cave and several riding units are other reasons to visit this increasingly appealing destination.

-Hunters' Cottage

The area is one that makes you appreciate nature, its beauty and its power. If you want to be close to it, it's good to book your special holiday home now. We recommend the Hunter's Cottage. With a suggestive name, the Hunters' Cottage is like a piece of heaven, a successful, safe and comfortable holiday retreat. Strategically located on the Glăjariei Valley and vigilantly guarded by the Bucegi and Piatra Craiului massifs, the Hunters' Hut is a picturesque place for you and your friends. The mountain accommodation on offer is a little out of sight and thanks to the generous space, ideal for larger groups. The full facilities are appreciated by all, as is the privacy offered and the spacious garden.

-Zărnești

The Libeartybear Bear Sanctuary in Zărnești might be the only reason to visit this mountain town. But it has a lot to offer, the newest attraction being the Wolf Park Adventure Zărnești. There are four trails of progressive difficulty and six zip lines, with a total length of about 2,000 m. For the unwary, the list of temptations is truly endless. Many mountain trails leave from Zărnești, and it is worth noting that the road to Peștera, one of the most beautiful villages in the country, passes through here.

A perfect place

If the beauty of the place has enchanted you and your group of dear friends, you can book a holiday home perfect for larger families. Located two km from Bran Castle and 5 km from the fortress of Rasnov in a secluded area, Paul and Cornel House has four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a kitchen and an open-plan living room. Full utilities, children's playground and spacious courtyard make this mountain guesthouse that you can book as a perfect place for a dream holiday.

-Tourist attractions in Piatra Craiului

The number of tourist routes from Zărnești to Piatra Craiului is impressive. Briefly. In a nutshell, it is about the hikes from Curmătura -Șaua Cottage to Vârful Ascuțit (red point marking), the Zărnești - Curmătura Cottage trail through the Zărnești saddle, the Zărnești - Poiana Vlădușca - "La Tableț" trail. Other marked trails also go to higher and higher places such as Padina Hotarului, or Vârful Turnu. Perhaps the most famous one is the Zărnești - Zărnești's Prepastures - Zărnești route. It starts at Zărnești, climbs to Diana Refuge, goes to Brâna Caprelor, reaches Șaua Padinii, then to Curmătura Cottage from where it passes through Cheile Zărneștilor. The finish line is at Zărnești.

Quietness, fresh, clean and ozonated air and relaxation is all you want. Here, you're bound to notice that the air is heavier, the silence deeper, the stars and sky beckoning you closer! You'll realise that the decision to book a holiday home or guesthouse in the area was the right one. You'll be back, of course!

-Șimon, Predeluț, Peștera and Măgura

You have arrived here, at the foot of the mountains, in a place like no other, with breath-taking scenery and clean, ozonated air! Protected by high and mighty mountains with snow-covered ridges, the villages of Bran, Șimon, Predeluț, and not least Peștera and Măgura, charm you with the unbelievable beauty of their landscapes. About the deep silence here I can't say that you rarely find it anywhere else. Stroll along the cobbled lanes of the villages, marvelling at the picturesque scenery and how close to heaven you are. Admire the high peaks and meadows that descend into the valleys. Take a deep breath and enjoy the moment! Book a mountain cottage, bungalow or a converted traditional house and feel at home.

Holiday home accommodation offers

A good choice is one of the three KUBs in Bran Sohodol. This mini complex of three KUBURI UPs, the largest model in the range, is perfectly located. Each KUB offers, from its hillside, breath-taking views of the Bucegi and Piatra Craiului massifs. Good cheer and fun come with every group of guests.
